The past 79 years, Carrow’s Marshall Cleaners has grown leaps and bounds. They have been witness to many changes in the garment care industry. Paul Carrow founder of the company started out on Main Street in Marshall. In 1963 his son, Ivan, took over the business and moved it to its current location on West College Drive. A coin operated laundry with drive through service was added for increased customer service. In the ‘70’s convenient machine washable, polyester became the fashion. It was necessary to increase the market so the Carrow’s added tuxedo rentals to their business.
By 1977 it was imperative that they branch out. The third generation, James Carrow has made the transition well into the millennium as a leader in the upper Midwest’s formal wear industry. Currently tuxedos can be rented or purchased from locations in Aberdeen, Watertown, and Sioux Falls, South Dakota, and in Minnesota you will find the locations in Moorhead, St Cloud, Willmar, Mankato and the main office and production warehouse in Marshall. The dry cleaners still in operation take care of garments for the community and beyond as well as the inventory for the formal wear.
